The Avigilon NVR Premium announcement was made in their bustling ISC West booth.
At ISC West 2016 this week, Avigilon Corporation announced their new “NVR Premium” product, a network video recording server capable of supporting “up to 300 HD (high definition, typically defined as 720p or higher) camera streams” and available with RAID 6 storage capacity up to 84 terabytes (TB) on board.
As with other Avigilon server products, the new NVR is made by Dell Computer to a specification set by Avigilon. Nonetheless, the new product represents a significant upgrade for the video surveillance systems manufacturer, whose NVR server range had previously maxed out at 21 TB before an expansion card and (up to 30TB) additional storage server had to be connected, resulting in less available rack space. Even loaded to its full 84 TB new maximum, Avigilon’s new enterprise flagship recorder is only two rack units (2U) in size.
