PSX attended the 2015 ASIS conference in Anaheim, California September 28-30. Product Manager for PSX’s security integration practice, Scot MacTaggart met with many of our security technology partners to learn about their latest and forthcoming innovations.

Security Technology Highlights

  • Spent a lot of time learning about S2 Security’s Magic Monitor and their latest release of NetBox security management software, and met with end users in the S2 Security booth.
  • Met with Samsung Techwin to review their bodycam prototype, and to get our hands on the latest in their cost-efficient WiseNet Lite series.
  • Got deep into social media intelligence with Snaptrends, which helps public safety personnel to proactively address security concerns by scanning social media updates within the targeted area.
  • Had a great meeting with Avigilon, who has managed to merge a working set of video analytics products into their VMS, Avigilon Control Center.  This is something that many manufacturers have found to be elusive, but ACC’s use of the analytics they acquired from Video IQ, Object Video, and BRS Labs is both useful and subtle. It’s an excellent addition.
  • We met with a new cloud-based startup called “BluB0X“, which aims to incorporate access control, video surveillance, alarms, visitor management and more into one product offering, charged to the client as a monthly service.
